Survival is not mandatory

“It is not necessary to change. Survival is not mandatory.” W. Edwards Deming.

You don’t have to move to hybrid working.

You don’t have to downsize your office.

You don’t have to move to asynchronous ways of working.

You don’t have to give your people flexibility and autonomy over their work.

You don’t have to treat people well and care for them.

You don’t have to invest in training and development.

You don’t have to get rid of bureaucracy.

You don’t have to give up the 9 to 5.

You don’t have to start thinking of the long term.

You don’t have to dismantle the hierarchy.

You don’t have to move to networked, self-managing teams.

You don’t have to give up command-and-control.

You don’t have to stop pretending you can predict the future.

You don’t have to change.

Survival is not mandatory.
